FIZOG was a modern children's comic created, written and designed
by Dean Wilkinson who had previously been editor of Acne comic in 1982. Fizog
comic was financed by Wilkinson and artists Lee Healey and Mervyn Johnston in 1994 and lasted 3 issues. The humour was typically English
and Python-esque - dark, surreal and often blood thirsty and violent. It was
distributed nationally and was sold in WH Smiths and Menzies, also in Australia.
It was building up a steady fan-base until a world paper shortage caused
printing costs to sky-rocket and financially cripple the magazine.
Dean
Wilkinson continued with his television writing, working with Ant and
Dec, penning SMTV Live and Chums for them. As well as writing for
the children's television shows 'Bad Penny' and 'Stupid', Dean is
also a novelist having written the 'Arthur King' books. Visit
