The Skipper was the fourth of DC Thomson's 'Big 5'
storypapers. The other storypapers were 'The
Adventure', The Rover', 'The
Wizard', and
The Hotspur. DC Thomson produced the storypapers in order to compete
with the very popular Gem and
Magnet storypapers.
Stories in Skipper included 'Willy Wallops Wangles', 'The
Team of Blinded Batsmen' and 'Wembley Bill Football Doctor'.
